Private jet charter prices are determined by a number of factors. Estimating a price by the hour is the standard method. This method however, does not always provide the quickest most accurate estimate.

The primary factors in determining the price of your private jet charter trip are:

1. Aircraft age
a. Original manufacture date
b. Number of cycles on the engines
c. Interior refurbishment
2. Safety status – All aircraft chartered by Stratos Jet Charters, Inc. are verified by independent auditors such as ARG/US, Wyvern or Q-Star.
3. Charter companies management, maintenance and acquisition costs
4. Number of hours the aircraft is available for charter in a particular year
5. Aircraft category – determined by
a. Number of passengers – determines aircraft size
b. Trip distance – Most charter companies require 2hr minimums for short trips
6. Length of trip
a. Same day round trip – occasional
b. Weekend trip – typically require overnight costs
c. Several days

Luxury Private Jets are hard to forget!

My first private jet charter experience.

I have a buddy who used to work for a private jet charter service company in Orlando Florida. From talking with him, I knew private jets were pretty neat. I just didn't understand why someone would be willing to shell out all that cash for a few hour flight. A few days before Christmas, my friend told me that he and a couple of the guys from his office were going to take an empty leg on a heavy jet and if I wanted to come I could. They were headed to Miami Florida and would be spending the weekend down there. At the time I had not been on a vacation in a long time so I jumped at the chance to get out of town.

This was a pretty neat opportunity! I told my dad that we were going to be flying on an Embraer Legacy. He was so excited that he came down to the airport to check it out. My dad is a private pilot and owns a BeechCraft Bonanza and is building a SEA REY so you could understand his enthusiasm. I was more excited about the beaches in Miami; until I got a look at the cabin in side this private jet!

From what I understood at the time chatering a private jet like the Embraer Legacy would cost about 5k per hour + fuel and other fees! I was in for a neat experience.

We left from Orlando Executive Airport and were headed to Opa Locka; which is an executive airport just outside of Miami Florida. The whold flight lasted a bit more than an hour but my first experience with chartering a private jet is something I will never forget!

Ever since this air charter trip, I have become very interested in private jets and actually left my job as a financial advisor to small businesses to work with a private jet charter company called
